about
The recent single of “Messy Boy” to ZEBEDEE's sophomore album due to release late 2020, has been made possible by a village of talented professionals. Starting with ZEBEDEE's amazing lineup of musicians, Victor De La Garza, Michael Benham, Kelsey Van Mook, Stephen Chen and Zebedee Row, with whom recorded across borders from Brooklyn to Mexico City, lead by studio manager and engineer, Rafael Durand in MEX. It was then taken to Erin Tonkon, a young, passionate, Brooklyn based Producer/Mixer to add her keen ear and implement some original idea's to help elevate the single. Next stop was Electric Blue Studios in Park Slope for our Mastering, delicately worked by Brian Wenckebach. So needles to say, it has been a collaboration of the minds to put together the sweetest track ZEBEDEE has released thus far.
Its hard hitting drums, grungy guitar tones and a flurry of fluttering vocals, make for an epic journey of music and lyrics. This is countered with an extremely psychedelic and visually stimulating video, putting it into a world unto it's own. “Messy Boy” is surely going to leave an infectious impression on you... So take a sip and let the ride begin.

lyrics
I've got an elephant in my room and he's a Messy Boy. Oh yeah. Life's great, except for one thing, no one believes me. I've got an elephant in my room, and he's my favorite toy. Oh yeah. Life's golden, except for one little thing, woo hoo No ones sees him, woo hoo, cause I'm the only one, it's a bit of a problem. Messy Boy he spreads his wings and fly's up high. Oh yeah. He picks me up with his trunk, he's gonna take me for a ride. I tell him all of my secrets, cause he's a good listener. Oh yeah. He doesnt say much, but when he wants to play, woo hoo. He comes and see's me, woo hoo. When he makes that sound, there's no one around. Wow, yeah. Give me some more. If you buy, I'll fly, come on, Messy Boy.
Zebedee was born in Australia, where he grew up amongst a family of musicians.
Eventually, New York stole Zebedee from
his homeland. After an extended tenure in bands rooted in Blues and Classic Rock during which he polished his chops and oriented himself in the local club circuit, Zebedee has now taken up a more diverse sound, something more rugged and perhaps more dissonant....more
